The annual MESI Conference, held in the beautiful coastal town of Portorož, brought together healthcare leaders, partners, and innovators from across Europe and beyond to explore the future of integrated diagnostics. With 130 participants and three full days of expert-led sessions, the conference firmly positioned integrated diagnostics as a vital and emerging market category in modern healthcare.
Integrated diagnostics takes center stage
The core theme of this year’s conference was the evolution and value of integrated diagnostics – an approach focused on streamlining diagnostic workflows, reducing clinical workload, and enabling faster, more accurate clinical decisions.
The opening panel delivered a powerful vision of where healthcare is heading and how integrated diagnostics is playing a central role in that transformation:
This was followed by a deep dive into how MESI’s solutions are delivering tangible value in primary care:
A third panel focused on one of MESI’s core clinical areas – arterial assessment – and examined how digitization is enabling earlier detection and better clinical results:
From theory to practice
The second day shifted focus from visionary ideas to practical implementation. The MESI mTABLET was showcased not merely as a product but as a platform – a catalyst for the integrated diagnostics category. Hands-on workshops, delivered by MESI’s in-house experts, illustrated how integrated systems can transform the patient journey from early detection to clinical decision-making across primary care, hospitals, and remote environments.
In a parallel strategic forum session, clinical excellence met business strategy. By opening discussions on future business and market developments, Thomas Hagemeijer and Tina Pogačar encouraged MESI partners to push boundaries and deliver even more value to stakeholders, especially healthcare professionals. The subsequent workshop provided an opportunity for MESI partners to exchange ideas, align their strategic goals and develop plans for market growth together.
Honoring impact and innovation
Outstanding achievements were celebrated with a series of awards recognizing partners and individuals who have significantly contributed to integrated diagnostics and healthcare advancement.
Medim (Poland) was named Best Newcomer, while Henry Schein (Netherlands) earned the title of Best Small EU Partner. In the key market category, Galmedica (Spain) was honored as Best Big EU Partner, and EBOS (Australia) received its fifth consecutive recognition as Best International Partner.
The MESI Health Impact Award was presented to Dr. Hani Naiem Ibrahim, Dr. Gábor Késmárky, Marinka Šimunović Gašpar, Nicola Wallace, Jacqui Fletcher, Dr. Filippo Magnoni, Dr. Perttu Laamanen, and Juan Miguel Jiménez for their contributions to better patient outcomes.
The Market Impact Award recognized Thomas Glasser, Seyed Shayan Ahmadi, Valentina Jarur, François Sendra, Ralph Luther, Carmen Robles, and Andrea Vilarhao Sanchez for their exceptional efforts in market development and innovation.
Cultural connection and collaboration
Beyond the presentations and workshops, the MESI Conference offered vibrant social moments – from a welcome party at Takamaka Club and a gourmet dinner at Kogo Restaurant with premium local wines, to a visit to Vina Koper wine cellar and a half-day Lisjak Olive Oil Experience, where participants explored the Istrian countryside and its award-winning olive oils.
The key takeaway: shaping the future of healthcare with integrated diagnostics
With hands-on workshops, expert insights, and powerful stories from clinical practice, the MESI Conference 2025 did more than showcase what’s next in healthcare – it invited participants to co-create it.
As CEO Jakob Šušterič remarked in his opening keynote:
»Integrated diagnostics is more than a buzzword. It’s a commitment to smarter, faster, and more connected healthcare – and we’re proud to build it together.«
