MESI-mTABLET-measurement

2021 was a year of growth for MESI. We finished strong by achieving record revenue, a record number of mTABLET installations and a record number of measurements.

Highlights of 2021:

  • New teams and offices established in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom to facilitate growth in key markets.
  • Two important clinical studies from the Netherlands and Finland published about MESI mTABLET and its algorithms.

Measurements

MESI mTABLET users performed over 280 thousand diagnostic measurements in 2021 (as of 1.3.). The most frequently performed was the ECG, followed by the ABI and the BP.

In terms of most frequently performed measurements per country, Slovakia has a huge lead in ECG measurements, while France leads in ABI and TBI. Slovenians performed the most BP measurements, while Australia leads in Photo App use and is in the top three for ECG, ABI and BP use as well.

One of the most popular functions of the MESI mTABLET – the ability to share the measurement reports, is used in practice a lot. 1 in 10 measurement reports is shared with a consulting physician for a second opinion to avoid wrongful referrals. This helps shorten the waiting lines and improve treatment outcomes.

Fun fact: the most measurements with the mTABLET were performed on Tuesdays.

Sales

A record number of MESI mTABLETs was sold and activated by end users in 2021, which is 56 % more than in 2020. The number of activated tablets has been growing over the last few years.

According to our sales numbers, the most frequently sold system was the mTABLET ABI, followed by the ECG and the TBI. In addition to the initial MESI mTABLET system purchase, over one thousand mTABLET extensions were sold this year, proving that the customers love the MESI mTABLET modularity concept. The most frequently sold extension was the spirometer.

New modules and apps

2021 brought new modules and apps to the mTABLET portfolio, and our plan is to continue this trend in 2022.

New Modules and Apps launched in 2021:

  • Pulse Wave Velocity App,
  • Digit Pressures (DgtP) App.

Achievements

Not all our achievements can be summed up by statistics. While COVID-19 still played a significant role in the way business was conducted in 2021, we were able to adapt, offering virtual experiences, presentations, events, and reaching our customers through different media while in-person meetings were not advised. In 2021, we reached the following milestones:

Looking ahead

At MESI, we will continue to do what we do best – create innovations to make the work of medical professionals easier and faster. Here are some of our goals this year and beyond.

As outlined by our CEO Jakob Šušterič, our first commitment is to increase the diagnostic utility of the MESI mTABLET by launching at least two diagnostic modules in 2022. Secondly, we are putting data into work: we are establishing our own AI team to create algorithms for eventually helping you discover what is hidden to the eye.

We are also opening the MESI mTABLET platform to research organisations and other brilliant minds to develop intelligent algorithms on top of our diagnostic technology and the data created by our community on a daily basis. In this, the data is fully protected in line with the applicable legislation.

We will also continue to build our medical community. We are excited to let you know that we will involve medical professionals in developing clinical pathways with the MESI mTABLET Protocol app. The aim of this is to ultimately invite you to become engaged participants.

A new chapter is always a reason to rejoice, and we are looking forward to being at your service for many years to come.
